I don't think the window for this team has completely closed, but obviously they need to get rid of some dead weight and make some adjustments. Get whatever assets you can now. Fire Lane, dump or buy out Bailey this offseason, Clutter retires and use the extra cap space and picks to improve. This team the way it's constructed now won't get it done.

The Kings aren't trading the goaltender they just extended, nor are they paying that much for a rental goaltender. Swap Copley for Petersen and maybe LA would consider it, but probably still no.
