Description
Colorado is in the middle of a massive rebuild and things are about to be shooken up. Defence is the main concern for the Avalanche, so they'll be looking to pick up a couple pieces that can add to their core immediately. Duchene is on the way out and this gives the Av's a chance to pick up some young talent and assets. These moves would help Colorado in the long run while also allowing them to improve from a disastrous 2016-17 season.

Faulk and Barrie are very similar players. They cancel each other out in this trade.

I don't think there's any package in the world that Colorado could offer to get BOTH Faulk and Slavin. Or Slavin at all, really.

Barrie and Faulk are similar but both are in a steady decline in their performances. A new start could be what both guys need. Barrie is more of a defensive liability so picking up a bigger stronger dman like Faulk could really help Colorados back end.
