Tonight during the pregame of CAR-VGK, Friedman casually namedropped M. Backlund as a potential target for the Canes. This was just EF speculating, but who knows. Carolina has apparently been taking some nice long looks at Calgary personnel, so there might be credence to his theory. IMO retention would be required to make the cap work for the Canes (half retention and Coghlan out). How much would Backlund with half retention cost?
