Man oh man has Desharnais been bad. Particularly last night. It sucks to see, being that I root for the guy, but man. I still don’t see them scratching him due to his size and PK minutes, but wouldn’t blame them if they did. I don’t see Holloway making much of a difference against the King’s structure, but you never know.

I don't think Desharnais has been bad per se, I think what you're seeing is what happens when a 3rd pairing defenseman faces top line opponents.

At home Manson can shelter him. On the road that's more difficult. I mean, he was playing with Nurse so Manson wasn't even trying to shelter him, but still.

I could see 11-7 again with Desharnais playing significant PK minutes and Broberg taking most of the 5v5 TOI.

And I don't think Woodcroft will stick Holloway directly into the top-6. That would be quite the ask from the rookie, who hasn't played in the NHL for several months.

Regardless of where he’d play I find it hard to see how he’d be more useful than Desharnais given LAs team structure. No use in throwing a young guy into the fire against a shut down team. Rather have Vinny’s size and PK, even if he’s been playing bad. Which he has. To say he hasn’t is pretty insane. No matter who he was matched up against he got burnt so many times. Again I’m a Vinny guy, but you have to call it how it is. The man has been burnt toast on so many occasions. I’d still play him over Holloway though. At least against LA.

I agree with this. I don't see Holloway getting into the lineup unless there's an injury.

Dezzy has been one of the best on the team at suppressing shots and scoring chances. He did get exposed playing 1st pair but to say he's been bad is pretty insane.

He has said himself that his play has not been up to standard. You might want to check out his 3rd period minutes in game 4. You also may want to rewatch the Kings goals. The minutes speak for themself though. I hope he bounces back 100%, but he has been bad with all things considered.
