    Don't know why any Eastern Conference team should help out the Flyers cap space. Florida seems to be doing fine without Streit, so I think they would keep the draft pick. Next summer Campbell's 7.2 m cap hit comes off (surprisingly he can still play) and the Panthers have many options on who might fill that spot, via their own group or UFAs....Yandle, Byfulin, Russell, maybe others.

    Streit is far from a bad cap hit....earns every penny of the 5.25m. Also next year actual money is 4 million...so panthers would get 5.25 on the cap but only pay 4....beneficial to teams trying to save some money, like the panthers.
    Also not sure, but i think what the author is trying to say is maybe the Flyers trade Streit at this years deadline...where it's pretty common for experienced defensemen to fetch a playoff teams late first round pick.
