The difference between Karlsson and Rielly doesn't justify giving up a ton of picks to have a top pairing Dman for 5M more, 3 years less. Who knows if Karlsson's health will hold up.

Not really, it makes it harder for them to retain Matthews, Marner, and Nylander. So, unless those guys are all traded for older players + futures, then it doesn't really make sense.
