The Ducks have a long history of not drafting Russians, dating back to the 2002 draft they've only taken 4 Russians:
Igor Bobkov, G, 2009 3rd round
Artyom Galimov, LW, 2020 5th Round
Pavel Mintyukov, LD, 2022 1st Round
Vyacheslav Buteyets, G, 2022 6th Round

They arent trading down for Michkov, I'd be shocked if he was even on their draft board.

The "report" or whatever you want to call it said the Habs asked what the cost is, not that the Ducks are even entertaining moving the pick, Verbeek was interviewed about a week or so ago and said he already knows who hes taking at 2
