Description

With Spencer Knight prepared to come off of LTIR, the Panthers are going to be in a tighter situation than they would have liked to be in after their cup finals appearance. I think they'll make a strong push for sturdy Ryan Graves this offseason to fill in a noticeable gap in their defence to give them a shot at competing next season. This should help improve their poor penalty kill and their 5v5 play as well. This move would, unfortunately, make it nearly impossible for them to bring back Radko Gudas, unless he took a sizeable pay-cut. I think they'll opt for a similar player of lesser quality in Luke Schenn, sacrificing the 3rd pair to significantly improve their overall corps. If they can get strong goaltending from Bobrovsky and/or Knight, this team has a chance to make another solid playoff run.

The 4-year deal might be a bit lengthy, but Florida is lacking convincing prospects to fill that role in the future, so I don't think it's too unfathomable. Additionally, the term will entice Graves to take the offer, which is the most important part after all.

I like it, realistic and nothing too fancy, although I would like Florida to look into getting a better option than Colin White for the top 9. Probably have to think outside the box though with the cap they have, though... Hopefully Zito can find another underappreciated young player who could blossom in Florida...
