My plan for next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>Yes, but moving him is shortsighted. Bobby is killing it but is also 35+ you need knight to keep this team viable.</div></div>
True, at the same time Florida's cup window is roughly 5 years and those years are the ones that should be prioritized. With the uncertainty around Knight and whether he can be Florida's next starter I don't know that you can justify wasting 4,5 mil of the cap during the years with their absolute best chance at the cup.
At the same time you are raising a good point about the goaltending after Bob's deal is up and I really just don't know what the right move is there... Stolarz has been amazing as a backup this season and perhaps he could take over after Bob is gone.

Slight Improvements
I wouldn't be surprised to see Knight traded and unfortunately with his current circumstance we can't be expecting too big of a return, the value is probably fine here although I'd think Florida looks more so at either proven players or picks they can trade for such players rather than prospects/unproven players.
On another note I have questions about Connor Murphy because my understanding is that he's a second pairing defensive defenseman who has been struggling in the past seasons, but I wouldn't be against bringing that type of a player to replace Montour who we likely have to let go... How good is he honestly and what is his value because I could see a trade where Florida flips young unproven Knight for someone who can fill a hole in their lineup...

A 22-year old struggling goalie with sky high potential on a overpriced two year deal does not cancel out the negative value that Korpisalo at 4x5 currently has in the slightest...
Chabot and Montour I can see...
And as you said a back-to-back-to-back 30 goal scoring guy on one of the best deals in the NHL is worth way more on paper and even more on Florida's roster than a late 1st...

Adding to the young core
Florida declines, I doubt Lundell even gets traded but if he does the return needs to improve their chances at winning a cup both in the present and in the next 5 years. Florida is not interested in picks, if you want to use their value try figuring out a three-team deal where the picks get Florida something of value.

Yeah I gotta disagree with that, while Montour is great he is approaching 30 and that long of a deal is gonna **** us over in 3 years... I would not mind trading Ekblad if the return is right because I think he's overrated and overvalued by most but we'll see what happens there.

Would likely only happen if either Stolarz or Bob get injured but isn't impossible... Either that or the last games of regular season

As a Panthers fan I'd argue anything is on the table if it increases the chances of them winning a cup with the core they have locked in for the next 5 or so years. Getting someone like Marino who can be a long term 2RHD since Montour probably can't be resigned does do that in my opinion.

are the panthers screwed next year
So I don't think they can keep everyone, and the one to go is likely Montour unless Reino can't be resigned. While saying that Panthers can likely still ice a very competitive roster especially if Samoskevich can play in the NHL. Forsling gets more than that, you're undervaluing him, which most people do.

Smith goes back home
I can't see Florida being interested in trading a reliable top 9 player and parting away with a pick for a more expensive and older player who really isn't that much better. Now Florida could be interested in Smith but they're looking to win in the playoffs and therefore aren't trading away roster players for that.

I am delusional and believe he wont get injured in Florida because his muscles will be warmer
And in that case I will do the Tampa special and keep adding picks until they can't refuse

I feel Florida would need Reinhart to confirm 100% he isn't resigning before making a deal like this, and an extension with Guentzel would have to be agreed upon. If it did happen though that's the ask but maybe with them parting ways with Lundell they'd counter with you adding Eller or Acciari in to the deal to replace him.

Knight to NJD Offseason Varitation
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Probably pretty close overall…but the dman in NHL normally carries more value than goalie in AHL.
Maybe Devils add Daws, Schmid or one of their other waiver exempt goalies and Panthers send dman back…so two-for-two?
Or for 2024…Devils send Toffoli at $2m, Miller at $925k and Daws or Schmid….Panthers send Knight and another piece.</div></div>
I wouldn't mind Florida getting Schmid back in the trade, who knows, maybe he could take over the net when Bob's contract is up. Florida could maybe send back something like Mahura's rights, he can be a solid third pairing guy...

Trade would have to be restructured (maybe something around a Knight/Marino swap?) if it was done in the offseason since the value Florida gets here is help for a playoff run...

What does Guentzel's extension even look like? Because if he's looking at more than 8 million I don't see why Florida wouldn't just resign Reinhart because he wouldn't make that much more anyway since Lundell would need to be replaced...

At a 9x8 Florida resigns Reinhart themselves. If he wants more than Tkachuk and Barkov we should value Montour over him but at that deal he should be prioritized.

Disagree, his value is still (understandably) too inflated because of last season. I cannot see us signing him for less than 5 million and at that price I'd rather just pay OEL because I'm more confident in the value... Rather save money and look into getting a younger long term RHD in the future.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SomeonesOffended</b></div><div>Why is Reinhart making so much when your taxes are so low?</div></div>
I mean I'd love to have him for less but if he goes on to score 60 goals and doesn't **** the bed in the playoffs he'll be worth Nylander money in the open market so I feel as though 9,5 mil is relatively fair. I tend to go a bit higher on the AAV for my ACGM's to not be too much of an optimistic homer.
