O Holy Knight
Generally against trading away Knight but that's quite the offer. Obviously can't see a GM retaining on three players in one deal but I'd have to think Florida accepts that. Would make Florida pretty crazy come playoff time...

I agree about how he is, I watch him play most nights. My point was that I can't see anybody taking him for free even if retention is involved, just too much help going to Florida's way. Like look, I'd love for teams to help Florida out based on pure logic but the thing is Florida has an anchor of a contract that they almost have to get rid of to have a competent roster and teams just don't help each other that much.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoVaSpartan</b></div><div>Obviously we'll have to see if he can replicate it this year, but I think it's not unlikely Florida could get him on a 3-4 year deal, Orlov got 2 for instance. Didn't like how the E-Rod deal could very well handcuff Florida this offseason though, I'd think it would be much easier to figure out their situation without him on the books.</div></div>
Orlov got nearly 8 million AAV though, can't see Florida being able to spend that much on him... Personally I like the Rodrigues deal as he fit well for our needs in the middle 6.

I just can't see a contract for Montour that won't age terribly. If he agrees to a max 4 year contract the AAV will be huge for someone who's only ever had one great season. Signing a 30 year old to anything more is just a disaster waiting to happen. I really feel like Hanifin's skill set and age fits Florida way better in the long term.
And yeah I can see how moving Bobrovsky will be very tough but one can hope...

Prime age team
Brother the top 6 has 3 elite 1C's and the worst goal scorer had 36 goals last season. Most Stanley Cup winning teams have Stephenson/Novak level players as their 2C's... On top of that there are 3 number one caliber defensemen on the blue line... In net there's a Vezina and a Calder nominee.
Probably a wild card team...

I'd think LA's plan is to have Dubois as their 1C and Kopitar be a great 2C. If it's the other way around I still think it's the same tier.
I got no clue what Nashville's plan is but I can't see O'Reilly being their actual plan for 1C, he's more of a temporary guy until they find their actual 1C.
Schmaltz has mostly been a winger afaik.

Depends on what they see their team looking like next season. If they tank maybe but if they try to go for more of a retool doubt they'd sell him.

The way I've understood it Calgary is looking to get Duclair in the package for Hanifin to play with Huberdeau in the top 6 so I doubt he'd be the piece going to Carolina, wouldn't mind the retention for Florida though. Calgary is also interested in Reinhart but I don't see a world where Florida trades both Duclair and Reinhart and personally I am against trading Reinhart at all.

Filling the roster with Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brian_O_Blivion</b></div><div>Benning will realistically cost a 2nd and a good prospect. Some might scoff at that but he was excellent last year on a very bad sharks team. He is super cheap and has 3 more years. SJ is in really bad shape if they trade him and Erik Karlsson as they have no legitimate RHD ready yet. So for that reason I don’t think he will be moved unless its an overpayment.</div></div>
That does seem like a steep price but the contract is indeed very affordable. Are the Sharks trying to improve for next year and do they see him as a part of their future, though? Could still see Zito go for him for the right deal but there are other cheap 3rd pair options so could go for someone else aswell.

I like it, realistic and nothing too fancy, although I would like Florida to look into getting a better option than Colin White for the top 9. Probably have to think outside the box though with the cap they have, though... Hopefully Zito can find another underappreciated young player who could blossom in Florida...

You got the extensions the wrong way around. Hanifin signs for 6,25m x 8 and Duclair signs for 4m x 4. The other guy explained how I meant the Washington trade to work.

I doubt a 70 point defenseman on his last chance for a big deal will take 4-5 million. It'll be more like 6-7.

It'll only be 3,5 million for the 2023-24 season and after that the cap is said to be rising most likely to around 86-88 million so I don't think it's and impossible task. If they cant fit him next season Oilers could trade someone like Ceci who's on a similar cap hit. As for the Bouchard problem is a bridge deal not an option? They could use the Dobson deal as a good start for a negotiation.
