Respectfully- not even close. It’d be worth more just to keep Pesce the rest of the year and lose in UFA than a much worse defenseman and a few 2nds. Not enticing enough to move Pesce.

Even if you traded for Pesce, and you gave Dahlin & Power the extensions you referred to - how much are you extending Pesce for?

Fair enough, I’d seriously ask yourself if Brett Pesce is how you want to spend that 7m. This is coming from a Pesce fan, but I’d be concerned if the Canes allocated more than 6m x 5 or 6 years max to his extension.

He’s a great defender, and underrated offensively…he’s a solid RHD to pair with an offensively minded LHD (so that would work for Buffalo), but he’s not a $7m player IMO.
