Wow that’s a lot of picks traded out…much of which is quite a mistake being made. If you’re depleting your picks, you’d better have quality players who can step into the roles voided in 2-3 years.

Example ANA trade…you’re trading too much for an aged, injured, and one year rental 3rd line player. Pono could fill that role in a pinch today, but would be a possible long term middle-bottom 6 center if he develops properly. Why do that?

Because I traded for Kovalenko who will fill the void in 2025. We don’t need a future we need the present. We have such a young core that we can go top round pickless for the next 3 years. Then pick back up after, we already have a great prospect pool as well as a core we can work our way around UFA till need be.

I'm typically against 99% of ideas for trading Buchnevich that dont include a big time defensive prospect coming back. I don't think i'm against this one.

honestly interested in the idea behind the Buchnevich deal, thats a lot to give up for a guy thats 4 years older
