Description
Yeah, so JFK gets put on line 4 because Spooner only gets 3M. Apparently we can't walk away from Spooner if he's awarded more (up to his 3.85M request), but I have faith that the arbitrator will rule closer to the teams side.

Bjork rides shotgun because he proves he's got it. He continues his momentum and becomes our best fit for line 1. He played RW mostly at Notre Dame.

Heinen drops like a rock because he's not as good as any Bruins fan thinks he is. He was 21 this year and scored 0 points in 8 games in the NHL and then averaged about 2/3rds a point a game in the AHL. These numbers aren't impressive at all to me. The majority of teams in the NHL have a guy between 20 and 23 or 24 who averages that amount and is considered a long shot to make the NHL. I don't see any justification for him being on our top line without a great camp. In this scenario he does average to poor and as a result gets more time in the AHL.

DeBrusk rises above Heinen because he was able to put up similar numbers while being a year younger at a vulnerable age. The difference between 20 and 21 is huge and the difference between DeBrusk's 49 pts in 74 gms and Heinens 44pts in 64gms is very small. I think Heinen would probably be more NHL ready, but he was invisible last year in the NHL and if we choose him and he goes pointless for a larger number of games, he may regress into a career AHLer, never being able to obtain the confidence to rise to the NHL level. I'd honestly rather try DeBrusk first and then if he craps the bed, plug in Heinen with no pressure, so he can forget about going O'fer last season. Putting Heinen on the first line, which I heard from someone else, is what Cassidy is thinking, could end up a huge mistake. Maybe he'll prove himself in camp and get some confidence, but I think I'm more comfortable with DeBrusk getting the first shot. That way if he fails It'll be shot 1 and he can come back form that.

The defensive pairs are self explanatory.

If you have questions please feel free to ask them. I'll try to get back to you.

Becuz ruin his offensive potential.... this message brought to you by Don Sweeney, who didn't fkin get rid of Spooner for Scandella so JFK has no home on the 3rd line now. The best part is that if Spooner wins his 3.85M dispute, we can't walk away from it. We have him at that number and we don't even want or need him. He's too soft to be a bruin, send him to Vancouver please. They like that type of stuff. Spooner + for any of Edler, Stecher, Tanev, Gudbranson or Hutton. They'd totally be infatuated with Spooners mild manner soft skill play and totally surrender a good dman for him. He could be the 3rd Sedin better than Louie Eriksson!

It's not the end of the world keeping Spoons for 1 year anyway. JFK isn't ready yet to take 3rd C role. Doesn't mean we still can't trade him during the year either....

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with Heinen. He's a responsible hockey player with an offensive upside and is a great skater. Bjork is a little bit of a hot head, and may get schooled in camp. Prove it in Providence first.

I think Bjork has the leg up on Heinen right now. If only one were to make the roster it'd probably be Bjork. Heinen's put up no stats and he was invisible in all 8 NHL games I witnessed him playing in. I don't watch AHL games unless I go to them, but he didn't seem to be anything special in that league either. He's a middling type filler guy, who while he's a step up from the crap we think is signable.... Agostino, Czarnik, Schaller. he's not a real top line talent at all. Rumors have him on line 1. I literally can't comprehend how great of a camp he would need to have to achieve that. I can't visualize that yet because he's done minimal stuff for a high level prospect. I don't see how he's a better option than Bjork, and I'm like a total " we should all pump the brakes about Bjork". Type person.

You realize in those 8 games as a pure rookie with ZERO pro experience he avg'd 13 minutes a night right? Its kind of tough to get in any kind of rythm with zero experience and barley 100 minutes of ice time. Not to mention he basically carried the Baby B's in scoring for the playoffs with just over a point per game....but I guess that isn't impressive either. JFK on the 4th line is a waste and he'd be better served in the AHL getting top line minutes and experience. Lastly Vatrano has shown nothing that warrants a top 6 spot. I'd rather have DeBrusk up there playing a PWF role than Vatrano, who will just take shots away from Pasta.
