Flames fans won't like this trade, but there's basically never been a rental player that isn't a superstar who has returned more than basically a late (20-32) first round pick, a B+/A- prospect, and another 2nd/3rd. IMO this is pretty much fair value.

This team could really use a lot of things. Reason I like Hanifin over the other positions is because he’s going to play a more important role than a 3C (assuming JT will be 2C) and we have Minten in the pipeline.

Gee, I don't those trades as Leaf fan. Rather have Murray (or his buyout) rather than 5.7 Mantha. Trading a first and Grebenken one of few Leafs "legit" NHL prospects for a one year rental is way too much.
Just sign a 5m UFA instead. I don't all this love for Accari especially at 3C.

Caps aren’t expected to buy Mantha out so they won’t go this route. Will be much easier to dump Mantha than Murray. If they were going to buy out this makes sense tho

What UFA would you actually be willing to hand out 5 million to? This UFA class is historically awful. If anything, having Mantha's 5.7 million cap hit will just prevent Treliving from handing out a bad contract long-term lol.
