There’s no way you get that much for kuznetstov, canes pass. Isn’t lindhren a good backup? Why trade him? Unless Shepard is better

I'm a big fan of Shepard and I think he's better, but I may be in the minority opinion here. Shepard's probably gonna be a backup somewhere anyways, so this way we don't lose him for nothing, and it gives Stevenson and Gibson the chance to split playing time in Hershey.

As for Kuznetsov, I still think this is reasonable value.

Canes will very easily pass on that. They might consider Kuzy with 2.8mil retention for 30OA, but much more than that is an overpayment.

We aren't retaining 2.8M over two years for two different players (we're already doing that for Mantha in this ACGM), that's a non-starter. I'd think his cap hit is adequate and that the 30OA+Montgomery, maybe without the 2nd, is certainly fair value.
