Trades
1.
FLA
  1. Hanifin, Noah
Additional Details:
Hanifin later on re-signs at $50,000,000 for 8 years ($6,250,000 AAV)
CGY
  1. Devine, Jack [Reserve List]
  2. Duclair, Anthony
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (FLA)
  4. 2025 4th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Calgary re-signs Duclair at around $16,000,000 for 4 years ($4,000,000 AAV). Duclair will play on the same line with Huberdeau.
2.
FLA
  1. Benning, Matthew
Additional Details:
Gudas requests too much for his next deal and Florida gets outbid. Benning could play on the third pair for Florida where his brother is playing in the minors.
SJS
How much would he realistically cost?
    3.
    FLA
    1. Mantha, Anthony ($2,850,000 retained)
    Additional Details:
If Washington decides they want to try and contend this season this will be a three-way deal where Washington trades Mantha to a middle man team without retention to get rid of his cap hit. The middle man team then trades Mantha to Florida at 50% retained for a 3rd round pick.
    WSH
    1. 2024 3rd round pick (FLA)
    4.
    FLA
    1. Fischer, Christian [RFA Rights]
    Additional Details:
Could be a versatile add for the bottom 6. Maybe will cost more but doubt he'll go for anything too crazy.
    ARI
    1. Kos, Jakub [Reserve List]
    2. 2024 5th round pick (PHI)

Benning will realistically cost a 2nd and a good prospect. Some might scoff at that but he was excellent last year on a very bad sharks team. He is super cheap and has 3 more years. SJ is in really bad shape if they trade him and Erik Karlsson as they have no legitimate RHD ready yet. So for that reason I don’t think he will be moved unless its an overpayment.

That does seem like a steep price but the contract is indeed very affordable. Are the Sharks trying to improve for next year and do they see him as a part of their future, though? Could still see Zito go for him for the right deal but there are other cheap 3rd pair options so could go for someone else aswell.

With Erik on the block and a trade seeming inevitable i seriously doubt Grier will take offers unless they are very significant. Benning is needed to help the new young D core in SJ post-ek65. He is literally the only other RHD that is available as Havelid, Fisher and Laroque are still a couple years away

I don't really see Florida as a great option for Hanifin. They just have the assets to make it happen. Unless they're open to trading to Lundell, who I would assume is unavailable
