Teams need to expose at least 2 Fs, 1D and 1G with a certain amounts of GP.
They can protect 7 Fs, 3 Ds and 1G or 8 skaters and 1 G.
Expansion team needs to select at least 15 Fs, 10 D-men and 3 Gs.
ELCs and NMCs are automatically protected unless players with NMCs decide to waive a clause. Some do waive (Price, Gallagher, Landeskog, Lindell, Burakovsky, Benn, Seguin, Markstrom, Couturier, Lucic, Hamonic, Fleury, Goligoski, Pacioretty). Lucic and Wheeler remain unprotected, but they would only play for their new teams.
Devils only have one goalie who does meet criteria to be exposed. I give them a pardon, Vanecek can be protected anyway.
I have some problems with your protected list:
1. Nucks wouldn't protect Kravstov, he's in the KHL now.
2. Preds would protect McDonagh over Barrie.
3. Pretty confident the Habs would protect Matheson.
4. Sens likely would protect Korpisalo(if he puts up solid numbers).
5. Panthers would need to protect Bobrovsky(unless he waives his NMC).
Svechnikov is my mistake. He is protected instead of Fast.
I disagree about Boston. Ullmark is 1A option.
Zub is relativelly expensive, Bernard-Docker is cheap.
Pettersson isen't cheap either. Also, Petry has NMC.

1. They can afford to protect him. I doubt anyone would take Beauvillier's cap hit.
2. McDonagh is expensive, old and his contract runs through 2025/26.
3. Matheson's contract isn't great either.
4. Maybe. I wouldn't, he is trending in the wrong direction.
5. Bob is willing to waive NMC. FLO would like to move his contract and he is willing to waive, there are just no takers.
