Description
with TDA likely going back to carolina, made me think about this 3 team trade concept ive been seeing.

cant see granlund being of any interest to VAN, but carter intrigues me a bit more. right shot and should be able to do a much better job filling in the top 6 if petey/miller go down. also half the cap and term.

not seen :
to PIT
EK65 9with some sort of retention)

to SJ
granlund
whatever picks + prospect EK65 will cost

Trades
1.
VAN
  1. 2025 4th round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
would be post bonus. so i would assume a low pick/B prospect to be coming back. canucks arnt going to dump a big RHD for nothing when he will be in demand at the deadline
2.
VAN
  1. Carter, Jeff
Additional Details:
PIT able to move off of granlund and carter to fit in EK65 in the scenario. gives the canucks a vet 3C for 1 year with 2.75 in cap space to give them some breathing room
PIT
  1. Dries, Sheldon
Additional Details:
gives PIT a below league min centre option. swap with studnicka if you want

Dubas would happily make that move with Carter if Carter is willing to waive his NMC. I think you would all be very disappointed in his play though.

a 1 year stop gap RH 3C is the prototype of what the canucks need. hopefully he can hold up for 8 months in the right spot. he wouldnt really be asked for much outside of steady 5v5 play

Well he sucks at everything except playing in the slot on the PP. So like I said, he is probably not more valuable than what most teams have from AHL call ups. But I do hope Vancouver thinks otherwise.

well i admit im not an avid jeff carter watcher so buyer beware.

this scenerio canucks save 2.75 on the cap to add foote and bear, which makes them a better team overall i think. canucks can score thats a non issue

He should be LTIRetired or if playing, on a one million dollar one year deal. His mobility is among the worst in the league making him inept in all three phases of the game. He can get into position in front of the net and still has solid finishing skills. That's it. Not an everyday NHL player at all.
