Description
- Frederic signs long-term after a breakout year that may be hard to replicate
- Swayman signs a one-year deal with the promise of a long-term extension when the cap goes up. He know as well as the Bruins do that he is worth more as a starter, but won't be the starter so long as Ullmark plays like he did last year.
- Bergeron signs for the minimum base salary and $2.25MM in bonuses. The Bruins can absorb the cap hit easier next year when the cap goes up.
- The Bruins try to squeeze their veterans through waivers during the late preseason rush, carrying only seven D and giving Merkulov a chance early on. Merkulov can also be a paper transaction to open up cap space.
- Brown and Megna played a lot of NHL games last year, but they're worth more in the AHL as vets for a ton of talented youngsters in Providence than being extra Greers in Boston. I'm sure they'll get an NHL shot at some point, as will Steen and McLaughlin, but not right away. I'm also sure Boqvist will draw into the starting lineup at some point, but the fit isn't immediately clear.
- If the Bruins want to carry eight defensemen, it will probably be a camp battle between Mitchell and Regula. I would love to see Lohrei in Boston, but only if he's starting. Otherwise he's better off playing big minutes in Providence.

Take 500k from Frent Trederic and give it Swagman, hopefully they both sign that low anyways.

Put Merk back in AHL, would like to see him get few chances but sadly he’s not “needed” on a fully healthy roster.

Up Bergy to 1.5ish mil and cut the bonus down to 1.5ish, just for little extra room next year cause they already got Reilly’s 1.3mil and Looch 500k to pay

And UNPOPULAR opinion here, but like to see Boqvist have a shot on 2LW with Pasta, I know it’s probably JVR’s spot to loose first though
