Description
Zaripov contract has games played and performance bonuses.

If the Hawks get Zaripov their offense may be the best in the league. Those top 3 lines can all SCORE.
The 4th line can be customized for a specific role against specific teams with the loads of players they can choose from for it.
Can be shutdown (Bouma, Kero, Dauphin)
or checking (Hayden, Dauphin, Jurco)
or speed (Fortin, Hinostroza, Wingels)
or scoring (Hayden, Kero, Hinostroza/Fortin)

In my opinion I wouldn;t have Wingels on the roster and would instead have one of Dauphin or Fortin up.

Fanson fills the massive void at 3 RHD which the Hawks currently have no real NHLer to fill.
Forsling Kempny and Oesterle battle for the 2 LHD spots all year. If they none of them can pick up the #4 D spot then they make a trade deadline move for a LHD to play top 4 minutes.

I don't see much chance the Hawks sign Zaripov, everyone outside of Chicago sees the window as closing or closed. He'd want to go to a competitor and get paid. Hawks can't really provide either anymore, so it makes sense that the scuttlebutt is Pittsburgh has the leg up.
