2: Caps are actively working on extensions for CMC, Protas and Sandin that are all "team friendly"
3: Cap space should be going up by more than one million- I've done a cool three million as a baseline

What we don't know-
1: Status and Health of T.J. Oshie
2: Evgeny Kuznetsov's status within the org.
3: The continued progress of high level prospects (Leonard, Miro, Iorio, and potentially high level 2024 pick if season collapses again)

I'm going with 1 being bad for Oshie, Kuznetsov staying and Miroshnichenko making the team in this scenario

Adding Reinhart would be huge. If they moved Kuzy and Oshie LTIR’d, they could also add Nylander 👀

Also important to remember Pacioretty’s 2M bonus that he’ll very likely hit (20GP)

id rather see AA/HAA over LuJo and honestly just let philips walk unless he figures out how to win puck battles.

I think it would be worth it for the caps to let kuzy go even if they have to retain so that McMike can be 2c and Hendrix 3c imo both have been better than Kuzy so far this year

I'd rather see none of the three of them! Phillips is fine to bring back as a tweener but if he wants a guaranteed NHL role he should move on. I agree though that this should be Kuzy's last year in DC and I would be willing to retain half or buy him out in the offseason to make that happen
