I can tell you're a Habs fan because the Caps don't even let you finish the sentence when you propose that trade.

Also, no Protas in the lineup when he's tearing up the AHL, putting McMichael on the fourth line, and throwing Michkov on the first line when he's not coming over until 2026, all not happening.

Hawks fans will tell you that's not enough to offload Mantha but it absolutely is and someone will take that trade. Don't know if Columbus would make the trade with those conditions but I'd take two early seconds for Kuznetsov with no retention.

Nylander is the better offensive player. Wilson is the better physical and two-way player. He's also way more of a leader than Nylander is and Wilson is more important to the caps than Nylander is to the Leafs or would be to the caps. So again, the caps decline. Sorry.

It's so funny that Wilson suddenly worth 0 when he's being traded for in every other ACGM. The caps aren't moving him. We don't need the 28th pick in this draft and a complete cap dump for two core players.

It looks like we move Mantha and don't have to retain anything on him. Florida pays the third to the team who retains. Essentially it works out like:

Panthers receive Anthony Mantha at 50% retained

Team 3 retains 50% on Mantha and receives a 2024 3rd from Florida.

Makes sense. Move Kuznetsov for the best return, add a young top 6 winger. Ottawa might want a pick this year, so swap the two seconds for the 40th pick this year and probably a third for next year.
