You had a bunch of word salad nonsense and try to justify 2 first round picks both being 16 or later and two second round picks (who cares) for a guy that is almost a lock for 40 goals and 100pts. Yeah it’s a lot of quantity over quality. I wouldn’t trade Rantanen for a top 5 pick and elite prospect and another first round pick. The offer sucks.</div></div>
You both don’t have any idea of what the players in the caps pipeline are worth. You can just say that, no one expects you to know everyone and everything. But you pretend you do.

Cup Run Again
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>What assets? Rantanen is a top 15 player in the league. No lottery picks, no absolute phenom prospect, this is a whole lot of quantity and not a lot of quality. This is a really easy no from COL.</div></div>
Suggesting this offer doesn't have enough quality is wrong. McMichael is a young second line center coming off his ELC, Cristall is a recent 2nd round pick that just tore up the WHL. On top of that, you're getting TWO first round picks that are premium assets in this league, especially considering the caps just squeaked into the playoffs so that 2025 first could easily be a lottery pick and the 2024 is 17th overall I believe. Kuemper is almost a cap dump at this point, but the combination of miscellaneous draft picks easily cover that cost. Just because you don't know about the pieces coming back doesn't mean they aren't quality. Just because there's a high quantity of pieces doesn't mean there's not quality in that package. If you're gonna respond to a post, at least think about it first.

Dont expect playoffs
Caps have to decline that. They're giving up their starting goalie and a couple of very useful depth pieces but not getting a whole lot back. Lindgren alone would fetch a first if traded this off-season just based off of how out of this world he's been. If no team wants to pay that, they easily keep him because you just can't count on Kuemper consistently.

Man that is a hefty price to pay for Rantanen especially with one year left on his deal. I don't think Colorado does it because they're competing for a cup every year and they probably strongly believe they can get Rantanen to extend. Value wise they'd probably be winning this trade by a small amount, but they have to win a trade if they're moving Rantanen.

Ovi wouldn’t want to leave a playoff team for a non playoff team lol
Caps counter with Jensen and a 3rd for Letang, Dowd and a 2nd for Malkin, or Oshie and a 2nd for Crosby. Take your pick.

Playoff Lines w no Lenny
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>All_Knowing</b></div><div>I actually think Mcllrath is a better matchup vs the Rangers compared to Iorio. Big, physical defensively minded defender - and we all know the Rangers can be quite soft. Let's get someone in there to take the burden of being physical off of our top guys (i.e., Wilson, Fehevary, Oshie, etc).
But I agree, Iorio was called up first so they probably will go with him</div></div>
Honestly I think that the coaching staff will recognize how well McIlrath played and give him a shot against the rangers. He will also take the Rempe burden off of Wilson.

Ovi’s best chance at being productive is with Strome. McMichael looked great between Pacioretty and Oshie, so I’d love to see them reunited.

I think that Kuemper will bounce back, but this is still a slam dunk for the caps imo. You could ask for their 2024 1st instead of the 2nd rounder.

I think the puck finds its way onto his stick and he keeps finding ways to lose it. Kid is gonna be a force in a year or two, but his talent is so raw. Just needs to refine his game. This playoff run with the bears will be amazing for him. I’m excited to see how his offseason training affects his play next fall.

Yeah Guentzel would never want to go to a divisional rival... oh wait.
Well, Pens players have a history of not wanting to go to the Caps... if you exclude Niskanen, Orpik, Sheary, Sprong, Hagelin, Schultz...
Guentzel would take 7x11 with the caps in a heartbeat. He wants to get paid, he's got cups, and he'd be the top scorer on an up and coming team that has plenty of youth on the roster.

TVR, mid 1st and a late 2nd is one of the better trades I’ve seen on here. I’d say yes.</div></div>
Removing Milano and keeping the rest of the trade the same would be fine imo. I think Milano is worth a late second and he fits in well with the caps.

Leonard played wing this year but is also a center. It’s not crazy talk. You wouldn’t be talking about trading a 2nd overall pick for Leonard if what I’m saying is crazy talk. The caps decline this offer and as I said, they probably wouldn’t move him for Celebrini. This draft isn’t a Matthews - McDavid - Hughes type of draft.

There’s some valuable pieces here but it clearly doesn’t get you Tkachuk. Ottawa needs Miro or Leonard to start the conversation. The caps don’t have pieces <strong>they’re willing to part with</strong> to acquire Tkachuk.
