retool Russian draft
No way the caps trade Lindgren, Dowd, and Jensen with retainage for what will most likely be a late 1st. That package for Chychrun would make more sense

Brannstrom price isn’t bad I’d say but just isn’t a fit in DC now with Alexeyev solidifying himself on the 3rd pairing. Could be an interesting depth buy but would have to depend on where they see TvR/Jensen and Bear next year.

ahahaha you looked up when I made the account lol you don't have anything better to do?
btw I started supporting the pens in 2014 when I went studying in Canada cuz my roommate was a pens fans. luckily won those cups but that is not the point. in Italy we don't even have ice hockey, we are football fans and we don't chose teams because they win or not. never done that never will.</div></div>
Brother, the date you created your account is plainly shown next to your picture in the thread. I simply had to look over to the left of your reply for about 5 seconds to see it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fil97</b></div><div>where did I say this was a realistic proposal hahaha what are you talking about.
just said there is no way franchise players of the pens would ever play for a ****ty org as wsh. biggest chokers in the league</div></div>
You call Caps fans dumb for stating that a ridiculous proposal is ridiculous yet scoff at the mere mention of Guentzel signing in DC because of some perceived “sh**ty organization”, the notion of Guentzel signing in Washington being far more reasonable than the original trade. So what makes <a href="/users/brady_t12" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@brady_t12</a> “dumb” here, since it seems there’s nothing we disagree with regarding his original post?
And last I checked; Orpik, Niskanen, Schultz, Sheary, and Hagelin all left Pittsburgh to come to DC within the past 10 years. What makes Guentzel any different? Money talks, its influenced plenty of stars to stay and plenty more to leave.
But seeing as you created your account in June 2018, it’s safe to say the Caps winning a cup did numbers on your mental health, so maybe I’ll lighten up on ya. Seeing Wilson life the cup must’ve been traumatizing.

Sounds good to me…but it all is contingent on us adding a 2nd rounder to trade here.

Can't see the caps moving Beck (with how well the fourth line plays together) for this package. Maybe if it were Beck and a Fourth for a Second they might do that

Caps Fans How U Feeling About Tomorrow
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady_t12</b></div><div>Yeah Guentzel would never want to go to a divisional rival... oh wait.
Well, Pens players have a history of not wanting to go to the Caps... if you exclude Niskanen, Orpik, Sheary, Sprong, Hagelin, Schultz...
Guentzel would take 7x11 with the caps in a heartbeat. He wants to get paid, he's got cups, and he'd be the top scorer on an up and coming team that has plenty of youth on the roster.</div></div>
To be fair, Sprong was acquired for Djoos, but the point is still strong here. Money talks.

Kind of wonder about the feelings after the trade as well. Caps would be deep with him and have the $.

My concern isn't BOS. My concern is winning against BOS then having stupid Philly having nothing to play for going all out just to ruin the Caps chances.

I’m sure Chyrchun would be willing to extend. If it makes any difference you could keep Milano.
TVR, mid 1st and a late 2nd is one of the better trades I’ve seen on here. I’d say yes.

it's not about that, it's about the fact that we have 4 right handed defenseman making 2+ million dollars next year, with another one in Hershey ready to go. And then as long as Dowd is in town, there's nowhere to put Kampf. He's not cracking our top 9, and Malenstyn, Dowd, Sgarbossa, and NAK have a pretty firm hold on the fourth line as long as all of them get brought back this summer. And even if they don't all get brought back, I could rattle off 15 upcoming free agents that will be cheaper that I'd rather have than Kampf.

Doesn't make sense for the Caps unless they trade away Dowd and then 2 of Jensen, TvR, Bear.

I'm sure they do! I'd give you the early second for Liljegren. Not taking Kampf, and not bumping it to a first. Otherwise some other team can go for it

Offseason Tinker Toys
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady_t12</b></div><div>I think it's just so hard to ballpark Laine's trade value right now. He's missed a large majority of this season and has been so up and down his whole career, but I swear he has the potential to pot 50 in a year in the right scenario. Maybe he meshes with McMichael or Lapierre and just lights it up. I can't see this offer being beaten out by anyone else. I think the 2024 1st and a low level prospect should be more than enough given his injury history and where Columbus is right now in their rebuild.</div></div>
Laine was always an awkward fit with CBJ - they only traded for him because Jarmo caved into <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USs9AXkGpMs" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Dubois' shenanigans</a> and made a panicked trade. Fluky injuries and shortened seasons have really hurt him, and his timeline doesn't line up with CBJ, particularly considering he doesn't have the term JG does.
He's still been roughly a .80 PPG guy with CBJ, which is saying something considering the mess CBJ have been since they got him, and the expectations they put on him to be That Guy, which he isn't (and that's OK!). Put him in the right system, and I totally agree he can be a legit first-line weapon again.
And yeah, I'm still in shock over how universally liked this trade is. That just...doesn't happen on CapFriendly. Or even the internet.

Laine + Elvis for Kuemper + 2024 1st + 2025 COL 2nd + 2025 WSH 5th + Magnusson?
Much less and Columbus just keeps him. But a few good draft picks and a few lottery tickets is probably enough to entice us to move an expensive player for whom we may have replacements already in the system.</div></div>
