To only spend a 2nd and 4th for Liljegren is a very good sweetener to eat the Kampf contract , I am quite sure some team that is not on Kampf NTC list would.

Liljegren definitely won't get more than what you paid Tanev, Demelo or Chatfield.

So what I see here is the fact that Liljegren is wroth roughly a second round selection on the trade market, maybe a later pick attached like a 6th.

Kampf would be a cap dump, and although its a small one is a cap dump none the less. Meaning you would be paying for Kampf to leave the team. I would say the capitals would make this deal if it cost them a 3rd and 4th. But eating 3 more years of Kampf would be pulling that second rounder back to that 3rd

it's not about that, it's about the fact that we have 4 right handed defenseman making 2+ million dollars next year, with another one in Hershey ready to go. And then as long as Dowd is in town, there's nowhere to put Kampf. He's not cracking our top 9, and Malenstyn, Dowd, Sgarbossa, and NAK have a pretty firm hold on the fourth line as long as all of them get brought back this summer. And even if they don't all get brought back, I could rattle off 15 upcoming free agents that will be cheaper that I'd rather have than Kampf.

Liljegren is more like the value of what you paid for Sandin, take him and trade away 1 righty , almost every team wants them!

They can think or say what they want but I am pretty sure someone would take this offer and run if not WAS!

I'm sure they do! I'd give you the early second for Liljegren. Not taking Kampf, and not bumping it to a first. Otherwise some other team can go for it

Doesn't make sense for the Caps unless they trade away Dowd and then 2 of Jensen, TvR, Bear.

Part of Sandin's value was also that he had an extra year of term. Liljegren's value is slightly dampened by his impending RFA status.
