Description
Trying a few ideas and of course I have Avs bias but I've tried to look at what might work from the other side as well......and no my opinion hasn't changed on MacDermid after his last game and this one. You need a player you can use more regularly for that money.
Trades
1.
COL
  1. Olofsson, Gustav
Additional Details:
Olofsson is a fringe NHL'er so decent depth coverage and on league min for next year as well, his brother is also in Colorado so might be a persuader for a re-signing of Freddie to a cheap deal.
SEA
  1. Hunt, Brad
  2. 2025 6th round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Added Hunt as it's firstly a contract off the books, secondly he gets to play closer to home in the North West, and thirdly as the pick is a year out.
2.
COL
  1. Hutton, Grant
Additional Details:
Another fringe NHL'er signed for next year at league minimum so can help with depth coverage and with leading the Eagles.
NYI
  1. 2024 6th round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Fair value for a fringe NHL'er imo.
3.
COL
  1. Sissons, Colton
Additional Details:
A personal favourite of mine. Think he'd fit well as 3/4 C or RW. Great on the PK, quick, physical without being O.T.T., good in the face off circle too, and can play up the line up as well at a push.
NSH
  1. Aamodt, Wyatt
  2. Foudy, Jean-Luc
  3. 2024 4th round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Difficult to put a value on Sissons but with him being a lower scoring swiss army knife type (vs JTC for example) he wouldn't be cheap. Foudy joins his brother to give a couple of quick young lower line forwards for Nashville's rebuild/retool. Aamodt played with Livingstone at Mankato IIRC so should be some chemistry there for a young D pair in the future. 4th round pick completes the package.
4.
COL
  1. Allison, Wade
  2. Seeler, Nick
Additional Details:
Allison seems out of favour in Philly so I can't imagine he'd be too expensive to acquire and Seeler is in truth probably playng above his level in the D pairings in Philly which will increase his cost.
PHI
  1. Beaucage, Alex
  2. MacDermid, Kurtis
  3. 2026 3rd round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Consider MacDermid a throw in roster player, doesn't have to be included in this trade. Avs can make more use of his cap hit in Seeler plus. I get the great guy in the dressing room and deterrent argument in having him but we're talkng hockey not mutually assured destruction. He could go anywhere for anything for all I really care! If Philly has soured on Allison then Beaucage gives them a younger project RW to work on in the AHL. 3rd for Seeler seems fair even if it's in '26.

I love Sissons but he ain't coming cheap. Very few NSH rosters trade him away bc he's valuable. He's basically a cheaper Ross Colton. He's having his best season ever. I'm thinking a 1st or top prospect + minor asset.

Yeah Sissons is more of a Jenner type in a way in that his internal value is more than his basic market value if you get me? Personally I'd pay the price to get him as long as it wasn't too exorbitant.
