hildeby has amazing potential and calling him up to the NHL would probs be the worst thing the leafs could do in terms of his development. steve dangle spoke abt this a lot in his podcast. it also wouldn’t be great just to sit him on the bench and watch jones start 5/6/7 games straight because risk of injury goes up and if we lost jones we’d realllly be screwed

what if that one game he lets in 6 goals on 20 shots? think abt a few years back with kasmir kaskisuo and he only went to play 20 more minutes in the nhl after that. its truly not worth rushing him, id rather claim a mediocre 3rd stringer like hutchinson. he’d 100000% be better than samsonov and if he gets killed who cares
