Trades
1.
PIT
    Mitchell Marner

*Done during 2018 offseason after Leafs refused extending Marner 9x8
    TOR
      Bryan Rust
      Justin Schultz

*Although Rust turned out to be a better player than Sheary & Simon, I believe he lacked the hockey IQ and vision to play a cycle game - he mainly did his offensive off the rush - he would’ve been an awesome player for Toronto alongside Hyman & Matthews, really clutch player

*Schultz is a terrific offensive defenceman but his defensive coverage is the worst I’ve ever seen - however, he was eating big minutes with Pittsburgh and I believe Toronto would’ve been desperate enough given their hole at 1RD - he is better than Brodie
      2.
      PIT
        Max Domi
        Dylan Strome

        *Done during 2018 offseason
        ARI
          Phil Kessel

*I loved Kessel but after the HBK line served it’s purpose, he was a problem for us at 5v5 - he didn’t mesh extremely well with either Sid or Geno, and he refused to play with Brassard

No one will replace his powerplay impact but the problem I was Hagelin-Malkin-Hornqvist was one of the best 5v5 lines the Penguins ever had, and they sacrificed that to force Geno & Phil to play effectively together
          3.
          PIT
            2018 4th Round Pick
            BUF
              Zach Aston-Reese
              Matt Hunwick

*I would’ve sacrificed ZAR instead of Sheary. A lot of PIT fans don’t like Sheary but his hockey sense was off the charts, he had great speed, vision and I believe that a Simon-Brassard-Sheary line would have never exited the offensive zone because they are a forechecking and transition machine
              4.
              PIT
                Tom Kuhnhackl
                NYI
*Brought back - injuries ruined him but he was solid for the Islanders in 2018-19, and he was making only 800k a week - he is like Hagelin lite
                  5.
                  PIT
                    Erik Karlsson

I’m sorry u don’t have anything better going on in your life than to re-imagine what “could’ve been” 5yrs ago
                      Good luck with that

I believe Lou would’ve jumped all over it tbh, he loves players with cup winning pedigree.

It’s cuz our team is so bad now. Well actually, we might make the playoffs but I don’t think we’re beating Florida or Winnipeg.

no, he really wouldnt have, it's a terrible trade for the leafs and even Lou would be able to see that and the fact that those guys were like the 13th and 15th most important part of that cup team is why.
