Leafs can waive Reaves but no team will claim him.
He's 37 years old and can only punch faces.
He's going to have to accept a demotion to the Marlies if he wants to keep collecting his NHL salary.
Or he can remain a healthy scratch with Toronto.
He doesn't make that call. The Leafs do.
Reaves has zero leverage here. He can continue whining about it or suck it up and be a pro.
Leafs have to pay him.
They don't have to play him.
Leafs aren't playing Cap shenanigans because Reaves was never placed on LTIR.
He's been on IR so he counts against the Leafs Cap.
They have every right to send him to Marlies and get his cap relief.
They're not breaking any rules.
Oilers are doing the same thing with Jack Campbell.
