Description

Would any of these teams be willing to trade their 1st this year for Matheson? Especially if the pick was top 8 protected (cannot see any of them being in the top 8 anyway and the odds of these teams missing the playoffs and having good enough odds to win the draft lottery is very very low.
My line of thinking is that Montreal could possibly use a mid teens pick from one of these teams and the Winnipeg pick this year to get a 2nd pick in the top 10 of the draft.....maybe.
Are any of these realistic options? Am I crazy?

Add NYR to that group too. And the answer for all of those teams is absolutely not. They couldn’t add enough to compete against most of the legit contenders.

Well WSH with Ovi might be the only option to burn the future just to taste playoffs for his last few seasons. But I’d hope a responsible GM wouldn’t be so dumb
