I also realize it's insane the idea of these two teams trading players of any significant magnitude. No stopping the crazy train, so why not hop on and have some fun. Also, DATS > MM2 all day every day.</div></div>
Sure, no one said he wasn’t. It’s so funny the DET fans running in to make these claims. The fact of the matter is they are very similar(not exactly the same so DET can compute). But the package to acquire either one is going to be double what’s above. Which most people would understand. MM is the best play maker outside of McD and Drais(2 guys who are certainly above Datsyuk no question). Datsyuk was the best or maybe 2nd in his time. Let me simp this up some more. If Datsyuk was worth four 1sts and a 2nd, MM would be worth four 1sts and 4th.

Raymond and 1st isn’t enough for MM2 alone. Think of what datsyuk would have cost.

This generation is offended by everything. Just expect it. But for the record you have that trade slanted for DET. Veleno has probably become the next punching bag for hockey fans so leave him out. If you’re a DET fan than the real trade will make you puke

Just means you wouldn’t have got Kadri afterwards at that $. Maybe you could have done it with KAM on his ELC and then this season move hanifin or toffoli

Agreed, the team was vocal about trying to tank so they are still a few drafts away. I think they will be trying to compete by the final year of breads deal. If he has another year on the deal it would be better and this would be a steal. But timeline is off for sure. That final year is also why the youth starts getting paid too so it could be an issue

The retention.. same amount they would have with a buyout 3 years from now when cap isn’t an issue.

Full sell
No need for samsonov (worth a 3rd and 5th)
No need to move Goodrow for anything less than a return or FC. He can be bought out as his contract was structured for. He’s very serviceable and under utilized in NY
Abruzzes isn’t worth upgrading a 3rd and 5th to a 1st and 4th

2/8 years they add additional cap over the cap hit. 5/6 years is 1.1M which is nothing to pay. Year 4 which they have a 3.6M cap hit is the only bad one and it’s 4 years out which the cap will be in the 95M range by then. Goodrow is also very serviceable and under utilized in NY

I think you’re being trolled.
The retention alone is worth a 2nd. PLD is worth a 23OA in a deep draft and the rest for sure. I’d make it a 1st no conditions change the 4th and 5th to a 3rd or possibly a 2nd. So roster player, prospect, 1st and 3rd. If needed I’d do the 2nd

I think if a prospect like Jones/sykora was added and a 2nd and retain the difference of cap hit on panarin it could get it done. But that’s only if both players and teams want a change

NYR wouldn’t take Allen if you gave them picks. Halak is better and far cheaper. You’ll need to find a team that needs a 4M back up and then pay them picks probably

Breadman In Montreal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>Only problem is they stink</div></div>
Adding one of the best wingers in the league is a massive add and they have so much youth still developing. CC was injured for 50% of last season. They are sneaky better than they finished this past season. CC was on pace for 50 goals. Playing with bread and Suzuki will only add to that. He could get 60 with both and 82 games.

Im not saying the O. S will happen but it doesn’t make much sense to offer a lot more than a late 1st and 3rd value when we have other options to get the same player.</div></div>
Pipedream.. OS won’t happen. Not sure why 80% of people on here think there’s a valid chance. CAR literally put in a bonus that was AHOs number or what they offered him. Can’t recall the exact thing but it was a real thing that no GM would do if it wasn’t a statement.. but think what you want
