When Ottawa trades Tkachuk next offseason it will be for picks and prospects.

Totally possible if Ottawa's GM has a stroke of some type and can't really think clearly.

I wouldn't trade Knies for Konecny. Not that he's better now or anything but a power forward with major upside is not something you trade.

Ottawa is in no way shape or form moving an 8 mill power forward for a 12-13 mill soft undersized winger.

If it’s in a deal with Norris and Chychrun going the other way, Ottawa might consider. Otherwise no way

What a champ 👏. Pointless trade - Marner has full NMC & neither GM makes that move - but you’ll rile up SENs fans and that portion of Leaf fans that hate on Marner.

Ottawa would be fools to trade him period, IMO. Guys like him don't come around that often.

Tkachuk is staying. Power forwards are worth much more than regular wingers, and even more when it's an 80 pt PF.

What pisses me off is always the offers that are 2 late 1sts , a bottom 4 roster Dman and an undersized prospect tearing up the CHL in his D+2 and fans branding it as an amazing return

Ottawa isn't dealing a more tougher Brady Tkachuk, For a more expensive softer Mitch Marner.

Ya fr, people don't seem to realize that a guy as complete as Tkachuk and with a long-term contract as well is worth more than a regular player. It makes it funnier when a bunch of people value Tkachuk as 2 late first, but these same people say Zegras is worth a top 5 pick

I would not trade Tkachuk without a Quinn, Reinbacher , Nemec, Boldy etc coming back . It has to be a good young player or prospect with the potential to be a top pair / top line guy

Even then, I wouldn't trade Tkachuk for Nemec and 2 late 1sts. Outta the guys you named, only Boldy would be enticing enough to have a deal to move Tkachuk, imo.

Yeah you’re right. Tkachuk just a ticking time bomb imo. He has the potential to put up 45 goals and 90+ pts very soon.

Obviously Leaf fans don't understand the meaning of a NMC.

Dont be silly calling out a single fanbase its as a whole many people dont seem to know what a NMC is

Seen people of other fanbases from various teams try Marner trades without realizing there be a NMC

No but more Leaf fans continue to trade players with NMC, Like Bertuzzi, Marner and Nylander. I see more Leaf fans dealing players with NMC than any other fan base.

Not in regards to the above trade.. but you think…

Kreider>bread
Anderson>caufield
Nichushkin >rantanen
Lee>barzal

Interesting 🤔

Bread and Kreider have a 50 pt difference
Cole and Anderson 45
Rantanen and Nich 60 (plus Ranty is a monster himself anyways)
Barzal and Lee 40-45

Prime time Tkachuk is a 90 pt guy, prime Marner is a 95-100 pt guy, so 5 to 10 pt difference. Very very different from the guys listed above

Another example is I’d take Slaf over Caufield this year, even with the 15 pt difference

Did you actually make up a stat for BT 😂 74 points in real life and 90 in you mind. Prime marner will be 125 if we are playing that game

He had 83 last year, has a down year this year, along with the entirety of the sens team, so he is at minimum an 85 pt, like 90 pt guy. Marner gets injured, so obviously his ppg pace is better than it should, the sample size is lower (BTW Marner never came close to a 125 pt pace, don't know where you're getting that from)
