The Edmonton deal is an interesting one. You'd almost certainly be burrying or buying out Campbell or Grubauer for the next 3 years, but the 2 firsts do make it interesting.

I think fair value for Campbell based on buyout cost is a mid round first and second. So the trade doesn't seem far off. Oil most likely buyout Campbell in the summer. One optimistic idea I've heard is Campbell recovers his game (looking decent in the AHL) and the Oil trade him 2M retained for a second in the off-season to a team that can take a gamble to try and recover value. Worst case the new team buys him out after a year at 800k x 4. Not a lot of goalies this summer, so might be appealing. But I don't see the Oilers spending two firsts to dump him.
