Description

Not going to bother doing a Tarasenko trade because he'll likely get traded for a 1st or 2nd round pick and an AHL "character" player. Same with Kubalik, at best he's going to net a 5th-round pick.

Also, Sens will probably lose out on the Tanev sweepstakes, there are too many contenders that would be gunning for him. Don't see how Ottawa would be a destination he would want to go to over a team like Dallas.

*Doubt Korpisalo will get bought out. There are no strong goalies in the FA market. Sens need to pray he has at least an above-average season next year and go from there. (The only way I see Korpisalo getting bought out is if they make a move for Vejmelka or Saros, but the sens have a better chance at trading for Crosby than that happening)

San Jose probably isn't a team that's in a position to be moving picks for players just yet. But Branny is still young and shows a lot of potential in both his offensive and defensive game. Right now Top 4 minutes is what the kid needs, and San Jose is in a position to offer him that.

Worse comes to worst, San Jose can flip him in a few years at a TDL to try and get their value back.

Sharks decline. Not giving up a 3rd for another left handed defenseman. Might consider for a 6th or 7th or swapping for some other underperforming RFA.
