Description
The original ask is a 2nd + B/Good Prospect for Tanev UNRETAINED

Conroy likely already has this on the Table, but is holding out for a 1st or Better = A Prospect. That said, Ownership will likely have to retain on Tanev to get the best possible return AND/OR they’ll have to take a Cap Hit with Term back in Faksa or Dadonov

Flames would prefer Players or Prospects over Picks for a quicker re-tool and turnaround. DAL likely doesn’t want to mess with their roster too much either, but I believe Dellandrea, Dadonov, Faksa and maybe even Lundkvist could be made expendable to tighten up their Defensive Play for the Playoffs

Hanifin would also be an ideal acquisition for DAL if he’ll extend there long-term as well, but he’d cost substantially more with an extention in place. Otherwise all I see DAL potentially needing is some more Size & Beef on their 4th line wings, so guys like Greer or Duehr might appeal to DAL to help balance out these Trade ideas as well

Tanev is reportedly headed to the
Dallas Stars in exchange for a second-round
pick, a conditional third-round pick and
      defenceman Artem Grushnikov

Was hoping for a C or RD Prospect, but add it all up and it’s pretty much the equivalent of a 1st. Did have to retain to get it though

Actually now that I see the 3rd is conditional, the trade sucks and Conroy failed. He should have waited till closer to the deadline

No, its just another example of why one should: look back at historical trades to predict future comparables, rather than GM-Speak & the latest rumors (oh, & Cap Friendly Group Think).

This trade is your classic Nik Antropov isn't going for any less than a 1st from Brian Burke.
