Make the 3rd a 2nd and eat 50% of Pageau's salary and Ottawa accepts. I love Pageau as a fit for where this team is, but 5mil is beyond nuts for what he brings at this point in his career. If Ottawa's getting him it's to be the 4C +PK guy. You can justify 2.5mil for that guy when you know you're getting a guaranteed homerun in terms of player/locker-room/community fit, but 5mil is beyond impossible.
