Description
I wrote a piece ahead of the Lindholm trade about how Monahan was outplaying Lindholm this year. I was basically laughed out of the place and told how much I don't know about hockey.

I see the numbers since the trades, and I've watched some limited shifts (mostly highlights of full games), and I still feel anecdotally Monahan is the better player this season.

I wonder if WPG fans are feeling vindicated at this point. Would you guys trade another 1st and Monahan for Lindholm?

Lindholm has played like an average 3C in Calgary and played like an average 3C in Vancouver. He made the worst decision in his life when he passed up that massive contract offer from Conroy in the summer. He'll never see that contract offered again.

A team is still going to offer 7x7.5 or something like that

What was conroy offer? 8x9?

Supposedly at least seven years and close to $70m. I can't even grasp how anyone would think he was ever worth that contract, much less be worth it in the future. Conroy lucked out because he would be Huberdeau 2.0 on that contract. Conroy would have been fired in a year or two from that decision alone. Lindholm at his peak was a 2C. Only with great wingers did he play like a 1C. He's been declining for a few years and his playing style is ripe for age decline.

Passing on 7x10 is crazy. And the team isn’t even THAT bad.
