In my opinion, this team is overachieving this year, which is great. But I wouldn't just run it back and hope to win the division again. At the very least, I'd try to improve the LD. The one thing going for this approach is that if the young guys improve and there isn't regression in other parts of the lineup, then it is possible that the team could improve with the existing cast.

Agree and he has about 5.5m to allocate to a defenseman in the scenario were we keep both Heinen and DeBrusk.

I tried to find a bonafide goal scorer or good LD with the 3-4 million remaining but couldn't find one to replace the current roster. Unless Grzelcyk completely disappears in the playoffs, I think he'd be fine on the 3rd D-pair. And I honestly think Hanafin and Lindolm will sign with someone else!
