Description
Carolina may need to ship someone out to be able to resign all of the forwards that will be FAs and Necas could find himself on the outs at the right price. I like Chatfield as a stop gap for ASP. Give Raymond and Seider the exact same contract with larkin and keep a solid internal cap. Hopefully Husso has a good off season and is healthy next year so you can deploy him and Lyon properly, then bring in Cossa when desperate. Wings severely lack high end skilled wingers outside of Raymond and Cat and I think adding Necas and putting him on a line with two hard working guys like Kasper and Compher will be awesome.

This is not that. Plus, I can think of multiple other players I personally and the organization itself would rather ship out than Necas.

I get that, just throwing something out there. I wouldn't say it's out of the range of possibility that he prices himself out if they want to keep Guentzel. They'll also have to pay Jarvis quite a bit. Plus that's a really solid return for a pending RFA.

A first 2 years from now, 2 AHLers, and a 4th is not that great of a return for a pending RFA. Honestly a "fair" trade if we go for a Fiala/Reinhart comp (neither of which are great IMO, as Buffalo was restarting a rebuild and Minnesota was about to start a multi year 15 million dollar dead cap era), would be this years first and a decent prospect. Again though, if you are trying to make an offer that forces Carolina to move Necas, a "solid" return probably isn't what they are looking for.

I think that the front office is more likely to try and lock up Necas long term than they are to pay Guentzel 8.5+M for his 36/37 age years. Even then, they can bridge Jarvis and buyout/trade KK and they have room for Necas.

You can quote the Fiala/ADB/Reinhart etc. comps all you want. At the end of the day, none of them were being sold by a contender, so they aren’t that good of a comparable situation. A “solid” offer, which the proposed is not, isn’t getting Necas. The Canes don’t have to move anyone to keep Necas and re-sign Jarvis and Guentzel.

Either a drastic overpayment in future assets, which the Canes are not looking for, or a top 6 upgrade over Necas is what the Canes would be looking to move Necas for.
