Description

Not sure what to do with Necas as I think he will be traded, just not sure what the value is.
Chatfield steps up into the Pesce roll as we wont pay for Pesce and Chatfield and Orlov are a top 3 Defensive Pairing based on Expected Goals % (with over 500 minutes played together). This metric had Slavin and Burns at 5. Overall still a great D core, but will be losing out on the Pesce-Skjei Pairing that has been very productive over the past few years. Morrow can develop next to a Defensive defensman with experience

Although KK’s tenure has been disappointing, I’m sure he still has some value around the league. Wouldn’t CAR be a better team moving KK out and keeping Necas? Even if you “gave” him away, dumping KK’s salary would allow you to sign Necas.

maybe... i think the "issue" with Necas is that he doens't play a good defensive game. He wants to move to Center and Rod does not trust him with that defensive responsibility. While KK definetly underpreformed this year he has shown flashes of what he could be. He plays a much higher level of defense and that is valuable to the canes. I think Necas could easily be a consistent 70 point player in other systems, it just that the hurricanes system is not for him
