A lot for Fedotov

Kind of stunned at how many people are defending this, just an absolutely absurd contract IMO

This was certainly discussed before he came over. He was one of the best Russian goalies; we can give him a year and see what he does. 4.7M for our goalies isn't terrible for 2 years.

It’s Briere making up for past mistakes. Didn’t offer Cutter assurances and he wanted out. Briere was desperate for a goalie and Fedotov wanted assurances to make it worth his while to come over. The contract is short term so it’s up in 2 years when we want to splash big on UFA centers like McDavid/Drai if they make it and in time for Michkov to come over so if the contract doesn’t work out it doesn’t matter when the team is really aiming to compete anyway. Too many people are way to quick to complain about the short term when long term is the goal anyway.

I think once he's taxed in USA and Russia takes their cut it might leave him enough for a house in PHI somewhere?
PHI did a lot to get him over here in the first place and now they're just trying to do what they can to make his transition more comfortable.
If that means paying the russian extra by about the same amount Russia will take , then so be it .

What about Bobby Brink? He needs to be resigned and probably should be included here.
