Trades

TOR
  1. Duda, Artem [Reserve List]
  2. Hrabal, Michael [Reserve List]
  3. Lamoureux, Maveric
  4. 2024 1st round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
Makes so much sense to me. Ryan Smith is going to want a big marketable name and Marner seems like someone who fits that role.

If Marner/Toronto are done I can see him accepting a trade to a team that has a younger core like Utah. He'd get to play with Cooley for the next 7+ years. Just seems like a no brainer.

Before this trade goes through Marner agrees to a 2 year extension. This gives Utah a guaranteed 3 years of Marner and for Marner means he still goes to free agency in his 20s if he wants to hit the open market. Otherwise if things workout then he can resign
ARI
  1. Marner, Mitchell
Additional Details:
Assuming the Arizona pick is 6th or later.

Toronto drafts Silayev.

This deal gives Toronto four guys who are high risk/high potential. Three are 6'7 or bigger so it fits Tre's personal philosophy. Most of these guys tho won't make the team for 3+ years so it's really a move for the future with the short term benefit being clearing out Marner's cap.

Devils decline, plus the Leafs wouldn't trade Nylander after they just extended him
