Why would two teams that are currently in playoff spots be looking to rebuild? I don't know where your logic is either.... you never give up the entire future for a win now.... that is what has made the hawks viable for so long they always have people in the system ready to go.... guys like Hartmann Schmaltz Debrincat Kempney Rutta. They can't trade away the future for a hope.

Secondly Ehlers De Haan and Trouba all have contracts that expire this year. Ehlers already signed a extension at 6 million a season.... which chicago can't afford. De Haan is a UFA so most likely would walk and Chicago would have nothing next year because they are already in the negative with the Cap you created and De Haan will get a raise.

They need to stay pat and hope the young guys develop. they also need to continue developing talent. The Hawks may look to add some defence help at the deadline.

This is horrible! You completely gutted the Blackhawks farm for 2 rentals that they can’t afford and Ehlers. Chicago should be happy that you aren’t GM lol
