Because signing Alzner was MB decision and his ego is more important than anything, i'm pretty sure that he wouldn't do that trade but I would for sure.

I dont like the montreal trade. We are taking on 9.5 million dollars in salary, while only removing rors 7.5. We would be getting 2 years of galchenyuk (roughly same offensive output as ror with none of the intangibles or 2 way game) and 4 years of alzner. Alzner would possibly solidify the d, but he provides no offense which exactly what housley doesnt want. Then we add a very early second for our troubles. I think its time to stop saying that the sabres are deep at center, reinhart is a winger (same as galchenyuk). Montreal makes out like bandits here as long as they have a warm body to replace alzner. Buffalo adds salary, loses the best player, loses the years of player control, gains a defenseman that does not help a failing coach, and loses an early second. Value wise, its probably close, but a closer look shows how bad the fit is.
