Obviously UFAs are harder to sign in real life than from the armchair. It's a decent plan, and a good team on paper. Not sure if Enstrom is capable of playing top pair minutes. Biggest issue, what does MTL do if halfway through next season, they're not getting good results? They've spent almost to the cap (actually could be over after you have to re-sign Danault, Nelson, De Haan, and Price's contract kicks in). on guys who are 29, 32, and 33... they might get a nice top 5 draft pick, but the overall prospect depth is still weak. I think Stastny and Backlund are sought-after free agents and would like to have the security of a NTC/NMC, so you could be stuck with them.

I just think it could be risky to rely on aging UFA's this heavily, but I could be wrong. Also, make this mock in the '18-19 season if you want to see the cap situation.

If you are GM Berg... you have to try it FAST otherwise it won't be his problem shortly and a full rebuilt is almost impossible in MTL!
If that doesn't work, than you have to TANK because the small 0-3 years plan for the cup will be gone for 10 more years because Price, NMC core-D (Weber, Petry, Alzner) will be all very OLD :-)

I made a mock for the '18-19 season, https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/108554 I don't think it will fit the cap without some more money leaving. And the point I was trying to make is that signing a bunch of UFAs could make it harder to tank if the time comes. They'd want security if they're signing with a team as a UFA. They don't want to think "this might work or I guess I'll just pack my family and leave again".
