I'm not really seeing why CHI would do this. Connor Murphy seems to have been pretty good for them and they took a big risk on him. Unless it's an overpayment, why move him when that risk pays off? Personally, I don't see Welinski and a 3rd as an overpayment. Therefore, I don't think CHI would move Murphy at that price. More importantly though, from a Ducks POV, I think there is still some risk attached to Murphy as he could regress or struggle to fit into another system that isn't CHI's. I think we need a more proven NHLer for that position next to Fowler. We'll have enough kids still learning the ropes in the line-up next year. No need to add more. For those reasons, I'd pass on this deal.

I had seen on a lot of Chicago armchair GM teams that he was scratched, and he has been during this season. I agree, doesn’t seem like a Chicago should trade him.
