Did I miss something? Why is John Gibson on LTIR? I haven't seen any news suggesting this to be the case and the contact made yesterday that led him to leave the game seemed extremely minor. I suspect that it was a call by the team, not Gibson.

The deal is pretty awful IMO. For a start, I don't see BM giving up a 1st this year. This draft is much stronger than last years. That first could net us a very good player and we've been very good in the draft of late. However, most importantly, I think Kane is overrated. He's an overpaid 20-20 guy and comes with baggage. Moreover, he's also fallen off like a truck since his strong start to the season. 12 pts in October, 11 pts in November, 11 pts in December (only 3 goals tho) and then 2 pts in January and 3 pts in February. I have no interest in Kane at all. Provides the same offence as Silf, but without the elite defensive game. EZ pass. I also don't see a need for Lehner. He's just as injury-prone as Gibson, but no where near as good.

On a side note, I just want to say that Gibby has really stepped up this year. Outside of a few odd games, he's been consistently elite. I seriously think he's got top 3 GT in the league written all over him. In fact, he's currently 3rd in SV% amongst starting netminders and 6th in GAA. He's single-handedly the reason ANA is even competing for a playoff spot this year. What's even more remarkable is that he's only 24 years of age. It's a shame he has these persistent injury issues, but, IMO, I'd rather have an elite netminder with injury issues in the playoffs than a good, but not elite netminder without the injury concerns.

P.S. Perry is a RW and Rakell is a LW.
