Description

Vermette to TBL for a conditional 3rd round pick. I don't think Vermette would be much of an upgrade on anyone already playing on TBL's 4th line, but his FO winning ability could be vital in the playoffs. Vermette can play C and W and is ok with limited minutes. He's more of a utility player and there to win those key FOs in the D-zone in those tight games. TBL's overall FO% is near the bottom of the league and so this is certainly an area that could be improved upon.

Grant would replace Vermette on the 4th. He's looked more than comfortable in that role and would probably be a step up in overall on-ice ability at this point. Unfortunately, I don't see BM being able to address our RD situation until the off-season.

Vermette is not worth a 3rd round pick. Even if it's a late first round pick I would say he's worth maximum 5th round. You can dream all you want but this would never happen because the deadline already passed. But good try!

Yeah, I agree. It was a bit of push. I just thought that, with prices being so inflated at the TDL in previous years, we might get away with squeezing it out of a team desperate for someone with top level FO ability. I guess it was more of a buyers market this year.
