Bowey is five years younger than TVR and almost as good. In five years, when Bowey is in his prime, in Norris contention, and TVR is slowly declining from being slightly better than Washington's second best rookie this year... that deal looks awfully misguided. The Caps don't have any right handed guys among the top seventy defensemen in AHL points, so giving up Bowey is off limits, unless it's as part of a payment for someone better or up and coming in a different spot, as in your earlier trade for Hanifin and Teravainen
Athanasiou more or less equals Connolly. Scores goals in sheltered minutes, but has week corsi. More valuable than Stephenson, so I'm sure the Caps accept that one, but also playing in Detroit's top six and young, so they pass.
Ekman Larsson's stat line says fourth forward. Not sure he scores so many points with defense-minded coaches. Might just be average. At that point, you're looking at the value of Backstrom for Domi straight up, and I don't see it, from Washington's side.
