Continued on from the previous year with Matthews getting $9.5 MIL and Marner getting a 'Kucherov' $4.75 bridge deal.

This is what I hope and expect the Leafs management will approach the next phase of this team.

Those trades are ridiculous. Underpaying Matthews, Nylander, and Marner.

Tavares will not take a multi-million $$$ discount TO PLAY ON THE THIRD LINE

I like the idea of a bridge deal for Marner and Nylander, it opens up some options in the short term while allowing the cap to rise and make room for a long term deal down the road. The number however, is way too high. $3.5-$4M on a bridge makes more sense. Kucherov wouldn't be a comparable to either player.

Kadri is already paid as a 3rd line centre so while the guy above could use a little more tact, his point is valid. Tavares is your #2C and gets the 2nd best wingers.

Kadri has done well but he's playing a little too high in the lineup currently.

laugh Right Tavares is going to accept $9.5 million per to play #3C in Toronto don't think so, He wants to go where he can be the star and play #1C and that's not happening in Toronto.
