    This is how I'm thinking:
Considering Kuch, Sergachev, Gourde and Point all need extensions to the 19/20 season I don't want to blow up the team with a big trade.
There are some good names in the system, Foote among them.

I've extended Miller with 4 years at 4,5 without any NTC/NMC, signed Vermette as a strong faceoff player and Paquette get a 2y extension.

The hole on the left side 3rd pair I considered Ian Cole for first, I believe him to be the BAP for that spot. But the upcoming extensions makes that a bad move. Then I thought about Jack Johnson but his personal financial situation makes it unlikely he'll sign a 1y contract at 2m. Even considering the tax-break of playing in florida, maybe he'll sign with the panthers?
Ryan Murray really needs a change of scenery and he is arbitration eligable so they trade for him cheap and sign a 2y contract giving him 3,5m in total (1,5m y1 and 2m y2). I might have underestimated what it would cost to trade for his rights.
I'm letting Sustr walk to allow Dotchin get that time on ice, I see a larger upside on Dotchin then Sustr.

Halak gives them a better backup then Budaj and options in case Vasi breaks. 1 year on him as well.

For the summer of 2019 I see Callahan being traded and McDonagh walking to FA (or getting his rights traded a head of FA).

Please give your opinion on this.

Ahh yes Buffalo is really itching to replace Gorges with another old slow overpaid defenseman. A tale as old as time.

No "might" about it. We'd want considerably more than that - he's found excellent chemistry with Nutivaara, and plays with Jones during tight defensive situations at the ends of games and on the PK. And if he'd be willing to take a contract like that, we'd be celebrating in the streets. You seem to think he's in a far more troubled situation than he actually is.

I do, I don't have any clue of what his situation is since every report about CBJ is about Werenski and Jones. I only looked at Murrays numbers.

It doesn't matter what the other team is, Coburn should be traded with a pick for a lower pick. I took Buffalo here for the simple reason that I knew they had the cap.
